Welcome to the new and improved IIATMS | It's About The Money

Welcome to the new and improved IIATMS

Football’s over; it’s time to get thinking about baseball again!

With that, I’m happy to debut the new and improved It’s About The Money, Stupid. I’d like to thank my incredibly talented design guru Brad (aka Bapak, etc.) for his time, effort and patience in getting this built.

I’d also like to thank the great folks at Bloguin for their efforts during my time with them.

Please let me know what you think about the site. And thanks for coming by.

Time to move on…seeing how IIATMS sold out to ESPN (dead sox nation).
Always enjoyed the pics that went with the article as they were the best of any Yank blog site.  looks like Pinstripe Bible isn’t the only site to have died. RIP

Congrats on the new look, Jason. Isn’t it amazing what can be accomplished when you switch to FiOS? ;-)

What was the impetus for the change (besides of course the money)? CS, give it a shot and stick around a while. IIATMS has been associated with ESPN for a while, that’s not new. I’ll bet you the content won’t be changing. If you liked it previously, give it a shot. Can’t hurt.

    CS Yankee:

I case you didn’t realize it, I have been an affiliated blog of ESPN since the 2009 Playoffs began. ESPN pays me nothing, I REPEAT: NOTHING, for my efforts. They also have no authority over my content. Their only request was that there is nothing contained herein that would or could be viewed as R-rated, or worse. That’s it.

I use my own personal filters to determine what’s acceptable for this site and I trust my contributing writers to do the same. I do not discuss my employer or their various business interests, for example.

I’m sorry you feel the need to move on, but rest assured, the only thing changing here is the front end look. And the reason for that is quite simple: Independence from all other blog networks.

    That’s it.

    Eli:

The truth is, the move wasn’t for the money at all. As I mentioned in response to CS Yankee: ESPN pays me zero. Nada. Zilch. Nil.

There are some backend reasons for the move, to remain affiliated with ESPN and as a result, I had to leave my blog network and become independent. Bloguin was nothing but wonderful, helpful and professional the entire time. Leaving them was disappointing and I’d heartily endorse them if asked.

    Thanks for your continued loyalty!

I like the new design much more than the one previous.  My only quibble is the click to read more thing.  Is there no way to have the entire post with out that button?

  7. Zach Sanders says:

Nice new digs. Although a little heads up to your RSS followers would have been appreciated :)

  8. Jason@IIATMS says:

Alex: I had the truncated postings at the “old” site, too.  It becomes a space issue with longer postings.

Zach: I’m pretty ignorant with some of these back-end processes and never gave much thought to the RSS feed changing.

And I wasn’t a fan of it before…..it doesn’t mean I’m not going to come back, however. It’s just one man’s opinion.
Is there any way to have the setting where the button doesn’t show up if the post doesn’t require it?

  10. Jason@IIATMS says:

I’ll look into that, Alex. Still learning my way around here.

  11. Alex K says:

    I appreciate the consideration.
