I don't disagree with this at all Brien. I was actually encouraged with how the pitching looked (either that or Michael Kay and Ken Singleton brain washed me with their endless adulation almost as if they were trying to convince each other and the viewers that these are a troop of future Cy Young winners). I wasn't troubled my Laird's at bats. I'm guessing that he was excited coming in to camp and then all of a sudden he's battling Eric Chavez for a roster spot? The guy has to be pressing to do things he's not ready to do. And Montero looking like a normal baseball player is actually good news.
“If he hits a home run every day, I’m sure he’ll get the Grapefruit (League) MVP,” Girardi said.
So this mean Jorge Vazquez don´t deserve a real chance for the backup corner infielder spot? despite home runs.
It's hard to see where Vazquez could fit into the Yankee roster. He looks like a 1B/DH type, and the Yanks have plenty of these guys already. I know that Vazquez has played some 3B in his career, but before I'd label him as a corner infielder, I'd have to see some evidence that he can play 3B at a major league level. He might be trade bait, or given the role that Juan Miranda had last year (the minor league call-up when one of the team's DH types was injured).
god with a small "g" and a strict innings count in 2011.

Seems to me Posada looks a little heavier around the waist/butt.
Do you guys think the Yankees will have a section of the bleachers made up of chubby chasers?

It's unlikely that Vazquez will really compete for a job. Right not, he's not even on the 40-man roster.
