Game 130: Yankees 0, Orioles 2

Mark Reynolds led off the bottom of the eighth with a single that dropped into short center field.  Ryan Adams lined a single and Nolan Reimold grounded into a force out for the first out of the inning.  Colon struck out Robert Andino, but J.J. Hardy singled to left, plating another run and giving the Orioles a 2-0 victory.

Bronx Cheers:
The Offense: Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson and Alex Rodriguez all went 0-4.  Robinson Cano went 0-3 with two strikeouts.  The team managed five hits and none of them were for extra bases.

Curtain Calls:
Bartolo Colon: The Yankees really needed a strong outing from a starter, and Colon gave it to them.  He went 7.2 innings and gave up just two runs on seven hits.  He didn’t walk anyone and struck out four.

Mark Teixeira: Teix was the only one who really was hitting.  He went 3-4.

  1. Wasn't til the end of the game, the announcers pointed out that the Yankees had not had a runner advance to SECOND base. We had leadoff batters reach – but nothing after that.

I still worry about our bats. One blowout to 3 dead games can still lead to good numbers, but doesn't always lead to wins.
