Granted it’s just one day into the Winter Meetings, but things are still going slowly in the Hot Stove Season…at least for the Yankees. The last few days have had some excitement, like Jose Reyes signing with the Marlins and news of C.J. Wilson getting a six year offer from the Nationals. On the Yankee front, however, we’ve heard of steep prices for both John Danks and Jair Jurrjens. I don’t particularly want Jurrjens, so I won’t spend much time on it. As for the asking price of Jesus Montero and Manny Banuelos for John Danks? Well, I’ll let Dr. Turk do the talking. Those steep prices mean a deal probably isn’t getting done any time soon. Also on the pitching front, we’re hearing rumblings that Yu Darvish will be posted; once that happens, the Hot Stove could start to burn a little hotter. Either way, whether we’re waiting for the price on Danks to come down or for Darvish to actually be posted, we’ve got to be patient for a bit longer. This isn’t a binary choice, though, so the following poll will have more options.
