Super Bowl Champs again!

How sweet it is. An incredible game. An incredible catch. An incredible finish. And Brady & Co. are on the short side again. Truly awesome.

Use this as your open thread for the night and into Monday. Rejoice, fans. This was a BIG one. Give me your best moments in the comments below.

Now that my Giants have won, baseball season has begun. When do pitchers and catchers report again? Lol And again where is that idiot who said my football season would end with the packers? My answer Superbowl Champion Giants baby! Now it ends!

So if I'm not mistaken it now goes from "Eli: elite?" to "Eli: Hall of Famer?" Eli is so enigmatic; he makes bone-headed plays all the time (though much less so now than earlier in his career) but he's otherwise entirely terrific. Does he have a baseball equivalent in that regard?

Eli's stat lines for the entire postseason were RIDICULOUS… and that's why the Giants won! :)

Great question, Dan. Might have to make that the Q of the day

I think just about every fan base, save for maybe the Packers' and Saints' (and I guess the Patriots' too, but that's largely because they don't really evaluate Brady honestly) probably thinks that about their QB. Bad throws are going to happen to everyone, especially with the proliferation of so many timing routes in the modern game.

I don't think Brady is a god Brien, but he's definitely a top tier quarterback and one of the best of all time.

        • BrienJackson says:

Well "best of all time" depends on how many we're counting, I suppose, but in any case I'd say brady is clearly on the downswing of his career. He doesn't make the throws he used to make with the accuracy he once had, he has little to no mobility, which puts him at the mercy of his offensive line, and he seems to be entering a bit of a late-Favre phase where he makes some downfield throws he really shouldn't be attempting to the detriment of the team (which is really weird, because throwing deep balls has never been his strength to begin with).

He's still good enough to win, no doubt (especially given the schedule the Patriots had this year, which must have set a record for weakest competition faced by a previous year's division champion), but at this point I think his gaudy numbers are as much a function of his system and the talent they've been able to put around him as much as anything else.

Someone I watched the game with asked "its ok if Eli gives me a semi, right?" – we decided it was fine as long as a woman was required to get a full one.

The yankees should buy the giants

Congratulations to the New York Giants of East Rutherford, NJ on your victory yesterday. I say this in all sincerity despite my hopes that Eli Manning contracts one of the worst cases of herpes the world has ever seen. :)

Favorite moment: Gronkowski falling as the Hail Mary pass bounced beneath him, and all the air getting sucked out of Red Sox… I mean, Patriot Nation. Also enjoyed Yoko… I mean, Gisele, criticizing the Pats' WRs for the drops. Way to go Giants!

I know you're all looking ahead to spring training, but I've moved on to college hoops, where my Orange are ranked #2 and where Madness is on the horizon.
