Sherman: Last rotation slot belongs to Hughes

Born in Southwestern Ohio and currently residing on the Chesapeake Bay, Brien is a former editor-in-chief of IIATMS who now spends most of his time sitting on his deck watching his tomatoes ripen and consuming far more MLB Network programming than is safe for one's health or sanity.

"unless he forces them to" what more could he do to force them to? He's been crap for 5 years

he's 25 years old still, he's had great outings, took a no-hitter into the 7th against texas before getting hurt, won 18 games in a season and has been dominant in the bullpen. he had a bad year last year, and he's still developing. give him a break.

You've been a bad influence on me, Brien. Either that, or wishful thinking – when the headline showed up on FB (via IIATMS's FB page) – somehow, I read it "Last Rotation Spot Belongs to Joba."

No idea where that came from, but it got me all fired up til I reread it several times, and eventually parsed it correctly.

Wouldn't that have been a great story, if it WAS true? ;D

Phil is the "right" choice, but he's also the obvious, and sadly, boring choice.
