Works for me – if they have to let Grandy and/or Swish (or, even Gardner) walk – it sure would be nice if there was a replacement available besides A-Rod and/or Jeter.
I love the guy; for sure, I'd miss him a lot more than, say, Melky; otoh, watching his plate discipline deteriorate as he swings at any ball thrown in his general vicinity it won't be quite as hard to see him leave, as long as there is someone waiting to take his place not named Ibanez.
