Not surprising. With a 7 games series it’s prudent for the Yankees to add the 12 pitcher. Let’s be honest Nunez is a liability on defense and he did almost nothing when given the opportunity offensively in the ALDS. Nix is a much better option at this point both offensively and defensively to help out at SS and Chavez always has been a much better option for 3rd base. Just no where for Nunez in this series. BTW, I’m just very glad NO Jones and NO Freddy.
The Yankees could actually give Lowe a spot start in Game 2 depending how they do tonight in Game 1. IF they win tonight Lowe might be a viable game 2 option he only threw 4 pitches on Oct. 11 that the extent of his action during the ALDS.
Gotta say that the starter tomorrow probably depends on today's results. If Yanks win, I see Phelps or Lowe tomorrow. If they lose, they could potentially throw Kuroda on short rest.
