Report: Soriano to decline qualifying offer

According to a tweet from Jon Heyman, Rafael Soriano is expected to decline the Yankees’ qualifying offer before the deadline tomorrow.

A moment of silence please and then one final untuck while pouring one out for Sori.

  1. The Yankees just saved themselves $12.5MM ($14MM minus the $1.5MM buyout). Thank you Scott Boras.

  2. Really… how much MORE does he think he can get?
Who else besides the Yankees can pay that much for 80 IP of a Closer?

  3. It's probably similar to A-Rod and CC…not so much about more money for next season, but really about more years. He'd rather take 3 yrs/30M than one year at 14M.
