It’s about the predictions…

The season starts in a few days and predictions are like opinions–everybody has one. Now is the time to poll our top notch panel of IIATMS / YA writers to see who is on the money when it comes to predictions. Each one of us was asked to name the division winners, the wild cards, the post season awards and make one additional bold prediction. The only thing we forgot was to predict which league will win the All Star game.

Did any of us predict the Yankees to win the American League East? It should be in the bag now that Juan Rivera was jettisoned, right?

There you have it. In probably what is pretty close to a microcosm of all of Yankee watchers, there is no consensus on how the Yankees will finish this season. Four of us think they will not make the playoffs, three think the Yankees will win the division title and six of us think the Yankees grab a wildcard.

Join the fun and copy the format above and make your own predictions. Everybody has them.

I think the most telling prediction is the one I made last week when I told a few friends that you "experts" here would mostly make your predictions from your HEART…not your HEAD, and most of you overwhelmingly proved me correct. lol…lol…even to so many votes for my favorite Yankee, Donnie Baseball to win MOY…..this is certainly a "loyalty" site when it comes to anything NOT sabertronic.

    • Mike

Actually PECOTA has the Yanx at 91 wins along with the Tigers and Angels for tops in the AL. I don't think it's out of the question as long as their DL guys return on time without any problems. A big if, but it can easily happen. They still have great depth pitching both starting and pen, and just cuz they don't lead the league in HRs doesn't mean they won't score a lot of runs.

    • Steve

WTF is sabertronic? Is he the newest Transformer? I don't recall Transformers ever being discussed here…
