Game 16: Hello Mark Buehrle

Today, the Yankees are facing Mark Buehrle for the first time since he’s crossed over the border into Toronto. Historically, the Yankees have done well against him – He has a 1-8 record with a 6.38 ERA and 97 hits allowed in 67 2/3 innings against the Yankees – but as you will see below, this is not your typical Yankee lineup. Especially with Ben Francisco batting second.

Yep, you read that correctly:

Brett Gardner CF
Ben Francisco DH
Robinson Cano 2B
Kevin Youkilis 1B
Vernon Wells LF
Francisco Cervelli C
Ichiro Suzuki RF
Eduardo Nunez SS
Jayson Nix 3B

RHP Hiroki Kuroda

You will also notice that Francisco Cervelli is getting regular player. Seems like the days of the catching platoon are over and that he has won the starting catcher job.

The game starts at 1:07 p.m. and it’s a good thing they’re playing in a dome today because apparently it’s snowing in Toronto.
