Game 74: Saturday in the ballpark

Our very own Jason is at the ballpark today so hopefully the Yankees will put in a good performance for him.

One thing in his favor is that CC Sabathia is better against the Rays at home than he is when he faces them in the Slop, I mean, the Trop. In 274 at bats against Sabathia in the Bronx, the Rays have 67 hits – 10 doubles, no triples, 10 home runs, 29 RBI. Sabathia has walked 21 batters – two intentionally – has 74 strikeouts and the Rays are batting .245/.302/.391 in Yankee Stadium.

Today, the Yankees are facing rookie Alex Colome who is only making his second career start. He beat the Miami Marlins on May 30 by holding them scoreless for 5.2 innings – not that holding the Marlins scoreless for any amount of time is hard these days. Then again, the Yankees aren’t exactly worldbeaters right now but I think they may have a better chance of scoring a run or two against– you know what? Forget it. I won’t say anything else.

Go Yankees!
