I think it’s kind of cool that as I’m typing up the game thread for Game 84 that I’m listening to a song from ’84. (Oh humor me.) And for the record it’s “Hold Me Now” by Thompson Twins who were not related and there were three of them.
Tonight’s starter for the Twins, P.J. Walters wasn’t born in ’84, he was born in March 1985 but he was conceived in ’84 which totally fits this whole convoluted thing for me. Good job, kiddo! And on another personal note, Walters was born in Dothan AL and I worked with a station down there at my last full-time job. So many connections.
Anyway, so far this season Walters is 2-4 with a 6.03 ERA and this is the Yankees’ lineup he’s going to face:
I know, what? Who? WHAT?
It’s July 3 and the Yankees’ lineup is even more unrecognizable than it was on Opening Day. Luis Cruz was picked up today (technically) and it was reported that he spent yesterday at Disneyland with his three-year-old son.
“Hey Luis, you just spent all day in Disneyland, what are you going to do next?”
“I’M PLAYING FOR THE NEW YORK YANKEES!!!”
CC Sabathia is looking to rebound from his last start in which he started off strong but couldn’t finish and ultimately lost the game to the Orioles 4-3.
He will be facing:
The Yankees are looking for their third win in a row.
