Well, what do you know? Derek Jeter will be playing shortstop this weekend in Scranton.
Derek Jeter has been cleared by the Yankees to begin a rehab assignment. He is scheduled to join Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre tomorrow.

This is pretty aggressive and a slightly shocking development. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m very excited about this and cannot wait for Jeter to return but I’m surprised he will be with Scranton this soon. He’s scheduled to play five innings.
See? He’s automatically better than A-Rod already because he’s starting in Triple-A and he’s playing five innings, not three. (Yes, that was sarcasm but I’m looking forward to seeing which members of the media will twist this into something that paints A-Rod in a bad way.)
