Quick hit: A Jeter Update

Brian Cashman met with the media and announced that Derek Jeter has a grade one strain of his right quad muscle.

For now, he will not be going on the DL. He will sit out this weekend’s series against the Minnesota Twins and he will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break. If things have not improved by then, a DL trip wouldn’t be out of the question.

The blessing, if there is one, is that this happened with the All-Star break on the horizon, Jeter can sit, rest and they can see how he’s doing after a pretty long break.

It’s not the best news, but it’s not as dire as we all assumed it would be.

Oh and how could I forget?
