According to a source, the Yankees have been told that Michael Young would accept a trade to New York.

After being told that he’d only accept a trade to the Rangers, and eventually the Red Sox, it seems that Michael Young is now willing to accept a deal to New York. He’s probably the best available third baseman, and the Yankees have a clear interest in that position. Unless they can pull off a miracle deal to get someone like Chase Headley, the chances of Young being a Yankee over the next two hours look pretty good.

Yanks now know Young will accept a deal to Bronx. Two sides working hard to bang out deal in next hour.

No word on anything getting done, and the trade deadline is up. Cashman is supposed to hold a press conference at 4:30 to talk about what happened today, so maybe we’ll find out more by then.
