Rodriguez Will Not Settle With MLB, Plans To Appeal

There seems to be a little more news tonight on the Alex Rodriguez situation. Besides the tweet from above, Joel Sherman indicates that some announcements may come tomorrow. Of course, I hear this rumor everyday, and at this point I feel like we’re all stuck in Bud Selig’s version of Groundhog Day.

Anyway, hopefully Rodriguez appeals, he plays for a couple of months, and then faces justice in the offseason. Doing these suspensions in the middle of the season has simply kicked up a total storm of backlash against players and officials, it’s a distraction to the “entertainment” part of the game, and it takes a lot of the enjoyment out of baseball. Of course, with a legacy of steroid indifference on the line, Bud Selig appears prepared to do anything as long as he can change his reputation before his 2014 retirement.
