Here is the list of names:
Jhonny Peralta, Nelson Cruz, Francisco Cervelli, Everth Cabrera, Antonio Bastardo, Jesus Montero, Jordany Valdespin, Cesar Puello, Fautino De Los Santos, Fernando Martinez, Sergio Escalona, and Jordan Norberto.
All 12 of these players have been suspended for 50 games and according to reports have accepted their punishment and will begin serving their suspensions immediately.
Lucky #13, our very own Alex Rodriguez, is not yet on the list but he will be shortly. As we all know, reports are suggesting that he will fight his suspension because his sentence is going to be much greater in length compared to the rest of the players who MLB is punishing as first-time offenders. Rodriguez will more than likely be able to play during his appeal and should be in tonight’s lineup in Chicago to face the White Sox.
Lastly, Gio Gonzalez and Danny Valencia, who both appeared in the original Miami New Times article on Biogenesis, which is what started this whole investigation, have been cleared of any wrong doing because there wasn’t enough evidence to link them to taking any performance enhancing drugs.
Ryan Braun, who was the first player to be suspended is currently serving a 65-game sentence.
