Game 128: A Weekend at the Trop

The Yankees are on quite a roll right now and with two of the teams directly in front of them in the wild card standings facing off this weekend and with their own series against Tampa, who are also ahead of them, a lot of ground could be made up with a couple of wins.

Sorry guys. I totally just jinxed them. You might as well not watch now.

KIDDING!

Here’s a revised lineup for the Yankees. Lyle Overbay was scratched due to flu symptoms. Yikes.

Gardner CF
Granderson DH
Cano 2B
Soriano LF
Rodriguez 3B
Reynolds 1B
Nunez SS
Ichiro RF
Stewart C

Kuroda P

And here’s the Rays’ lineup:

Jennings CF
Zobrist 2B
Longoria 3B
Joyce RF
Loney 1B
Johnson DH
DeJesus LF
Lobaton C
Escobar SS

Archer P

Chris Archer shut down the Yankees last time he faced them in July but that was a different team. The mid-August version of the New York Yankees have won five games in a row and four series in a row.

Hiroki Kuroda is looking to bounce back from his last start, a loss to the Red Sox this past Saturday.

The Rays presented Mariano Rivera with a giant sand sculpture. You can see it here. I think it’s creepy.
