Ellsbury Officially A Yankee

The Yankees have made the 7-year contract with Ellsbury official. The press conference is set for Friday December 13th. With Jacoby Ellsbury now on the 40-man roster, all 40 spots are accounted for. They’ll need to free up a spot for Carlos Beltran before he becomes official. Unless they trade some players before the winter meetings, or postpone Beltran’s official agreement, the team won’t have any open spots for the Rule 5 draft. Oh well, guess they’ll just have to sign some more free agents.
