Quick hit: Cervelli and Yanks avoid arbitration, CC joins Roc Nation

The Yankees have signed Francisco Cervelli to a one-year contract to avoid arbitration.

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports says that the deal is worth $700k. Cervelli, who only appeared in 61 plate appearance in 2013 before suffering a broken hand, was also suspended 50 games for his connection to the Biogenesis clinic in Miami.

The Yankees have four remaining unsigned arbitration-eligible players: David Robertson, Brett Gardner, Shawn Kelley and Ivan Nova.

And it was just announced that CC Sabathia has signed with Jay Z’s Roc Nation. Hmmm.

Here’s a picture of the event.
