Happy HIROK Day and welcome to tonight’s game thread!

According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Joe Girardi told reporters that Carlos Beltran had an MRI on his left shoulder and right wrist. In case you missed it, Beltran took a pretty nasty tumble over the short wall in right field of the Trop last night. He basically forgot it was there and flipped over it. Beltran’s lucky he didn’t seriously hurt himself. Anyway, both MRIs were clean, thank goodness, but Beltran will be unavailable today play tonight. He told reporters that he hopes to play tomorrow night.

Oh and before you draw any conclusions about Brian Roberts‘ absence from the lineup, Girardi told the beat writers it’s just a normal day off because he doesn’t want Roberts playing on turf four days in a row which given Roberts’ injury history and the fact that he was battling a back strain earlier this week, is a smart decision.
