Yankees waste about a million scoring chances and lose to the Rays in extras

This game was awful and we don’t need to rehash all of that awfulness.

There were awful at bats, awful baserunning, and ultimately an awful top of the 14th in which the game went from being tied at 5 to the Rays taking a 10-5 lead.

More awfulness:

  • The Yankees left seven men on base in the 11th, 12th and 13th innings. (Per Joe Lemire on Twitter)
  • Derek Jeter went 0-7 for the first time in his career and his batting average fell from .271 to .250. (Per about 5,000 people on Twitter)

AWFUL.
