Report: Shawn Kelley’s Rehab Shut Down After Setback

That’s not good news.  There was a slight chance that the Yankees could have gotten Shawn Kelley back this weekend, but that’s not happening now.

Joe informed the media before this afternoon’s game that Kelley suffered a setback with his rehab work and is being shut down for the time being.  He played catch on Monday and woke up yesterday with more back stiffness, so clearly he’s not even close to ready to return to action.  According to Dan Barbarisi, tests on Kelley’s back are still coming back negative, which is good news, but the team is “taking it slow” for now.  No timetable for his return, more on this as it comes out.

Born in Dover, Delaware and raised in Danbury, Connecticut, Brad now resides in Wisconsin, where he regularly goes out of his way to remind Brewers fans that their team will never be as good as the Yankees. When he’s not writing for IIATMS and An A-Blog for A-Rod, he likes to spend his time incorporating “Seinfeld” quotes into everyday conversation, critiquing WWE storylines, and drinking enough beer to be good at darts.
