Always great to forget about yesterday’s bad pitching performance with #TANAK day. Today, Masahiro Tanaka faces off against a struggling Kevin Correia. This looks like it has the makings of a blowout in the Yankees’ favor, but Correia actually has some decent peripherals. He probably won’t strike out many guys, but the pitcher owns a 6.34 ERA and a 3.87 FIP. He’s gotten unlucky with a crazy low 54.6% left on base rate and a .330 BABIP. Correia has only allowed a 15.6% line drive rate and 6% of his flyballs have gone for home runs. Hopefully he doesn’t decide to start pitching up to these peripherals today.
