Game 118: Capuano vs. Norris

Welcome to tonight’s game thread.

Last Monday, the Yankees began a “big” four-game series with the AL Central leading Detroit Tigers and their three Cy Young winners and ended up winning three games, then this weekend they dropped two out of three to the Cleveland Indians who aren’t leading anything at the moment. So what will happen to the Yankees this week while facing their division rivals in Baltimore? Who knows? They beat the teams you expect them to lose to and they lose to the teams you’d hope they’d beat.

Okay, how’s this for a prediction? I predict that both Steve Pearce and Jonathan Schoop will be co-winner of the Pain in the Ass of the week.

Here are your lineups:

YANKEES
Brett Gardner (L) LF
Derek Jeter (R) SS
Jacoby Ellsbury (L) CF
Mark Teixeira (S) 1B
Carlos Beltran (S) DH
Chase Headley (S) 3B
Stephen Drew (L) 2B
Martin Prado (R) RF
Francisco Cervelli (R) C

ORIOLES
Nick Markakis (L) RF
Manny Machado (R) 3B
Adam Jones (R) CF
Nelson Cruz (R) DH
Delmon Young (R) LF
Steve Pearce (R) 1B
Caleb Joseph (R) C
Ryan Flaherty (L) SS
Jonathan Schoop (R) 2B

Your pitching matchup is in the title of the thread but in case you need reminding it’s Bud Norris vs. Chris Capuano.
