Quick Hits: Teixeira, Jeter, Cabral, Pineda, Rapada, Lineup

Lots of injury updates today, and they're all of the positive variety. Mark Teixeira began taking swings underwater yesterday, and is scheduled to take dry swings today. Given the initial timetable on his injury, it's surprising that he's the first one to take dry swings.

Derek Jeter took ground balls today, as well as hit in batting practice. The Yankees seemed to be holding him back over the last few days, so hopefully they can increase the workload soon.

Michael Pineda threw a bullpen session, 35 pitches broken into 2 parts. Bryan Hoch was told that the session looked better than his first two. He's hearing that a late-May/early-June return is in play, but I expect the organization to use an option on him, reduce his service time, and limit his Super-Two status. They have plenty of starting pitchers, and I'm sure they'll be extra cautious with Pineda's rehab.

Cesar Cabral pitched in Extended Spring Training yesterday, throwing a scoreless inning, but not without giving up a single to Delmon Young.

Clay Rapada also threw a simulated game, totaling up 25 pitches. I'd imagine he'll be the first to return of the injured players.

I hope you like the lineup, because the Yankees will see a lot of left-handed starters through the rest of April. I'll have more on this at 5:00 PM.

CC Sabathia will take the mound against Wade Miley, who's coming off a fantastic rookie season where he finished second in the Rookie of the Year vote to Bryce Harper.

The game starts at 7:05 PM and you can catch it on MY9.
