http://twitter.com/jnorris427/status/334667727019073537 Not only is it David Adams' birthday, he was called up to the show. That's a very nice birthday present.
This is a feel good story for a couple of reasons, one being that Adams has had injury issues. He suffered a pretty bad ankle injury in 2010 that has affected him on and off since it happened and this season, after being added to the Yankees' 40-man roster, Adams suffered a back injury which caused him to miss most of Spring Training.
Adams can play both second and third base, and through 27 games with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders this season, he has produced a .316/.407/.490 batting line with three home runs.
Earlier this year, Adams was released by the Yankees to make space on the team's 40-man roster for new acquisition Vernon Wells but the Yankees re-signed him to a minor league deal three days later.
