Rage, Rage Against The Lying Of Ryan

(With my apologies to Dylan Thomas for using and then butchering his work.) Here's my reaction to all of the outrage I'm seeing from baseball writers across the nation in regards to Ryan Braun's suspension and the "shocking" realization that he lied to everyone last year:

I'm so tired of everything.

Are we really surprised that Ryan Braun was lying through his teeth? Or, that any of the guys who are about to be suspended - Alex Rodriguez included - were lying?

The shock and awe that people are exhibiting is laughable.

Especially these extremely angry and bitter writers, who I am not linking to because I'm sure if you google or just check Twitter you will find their stuff. It's as if Braun and the other steroid cheats came to their houses and kicked their dogs.

Instead of reporting about Braun's suspension, they are also inserting their outrage into the story.

Guess what? Most of us don't care how you feel about this now. Particularly, the writers who were working back in the mid-late 1990's and writing about guys like Jose Canseco, Ken Caminiti, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire, among others and who were turning a blind eye to their bulging bodies, inflated home run totals and lengthy home run distances.

It smacks of hypocrisy and in some cases, sanctimony. Just shut up, report what's happening and stop acting like you're perfect and have never lied about anything in your life.

Some of these people are on horses that are so high, the fall will probably kill them.
