This story has been making the rounds this morning but I figured I'd share it with all of you in case you missed it. 79-year-old Harvey Wildstein has been collecting Yankee memorabilia since his days as a kid growing up in Brooklyn when he was a lone Yankee fan in the land of Dodger blue but now, he's looking to downsize a bit. For Wildstein, looking at his numerous signed jerseys, balls, bats and other assorted goodies in his basement , makes him feel like a kid again.
"I go downstairs, I look at all my stuff, and I come up smiling," he said. "I say, 'Whoo! My youth is back.' Yeah, I feel like flying."
Wildstein and his wife of 53 years, Fran, will be having a garage sale this weekend at their house in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Whatever he doesn't sell, Wildstein says he'll try to sneak back into the basement when his wife isn't looking. Fran admits she hasn't even been in the basement for the past eight years.
Can I move in with these people? I'd be more than happy to sleep in the basement surrounded by all of that memorabilia. I was gasping at some of the stuff just watching the video.
