Game 116: Please don't get throttled, Andy

Pettitte vs OAKMood music: Revolver (Paul Van Dyk Remix) - By Madonna Here's the story, I'm going to the game later this afternoon and no one is going to be able to get the game thread up so I'm pre-writing it and scheduling it 10 hours in advance. (I'm actually writing this at 1:58 a.m.)

Fun!

To be honest, I'm dreading going to the Stadium. I'm really not in the mood to see Justin Verlander shut down the Yankee offense - like that's hard to do anyway? - and I'm definitely not in the mood to see Andy Pettitte get hit all over the ballpark.

I was actually joking with people about how I may break my no drinking policy and throw caution to the wind because being buzzed may be the only I can get through it. Or maybe I'm being too pessimistic and the Yankees - and more specifically Pettitte - will shock the hell out of us all and win tomorrow and take two out of three from Detroit.

Yeah, okay.

Since I'm doing this so far in advance, I'm obviously not going to have the lineups for you. So, instead, here are the lineups from four years ago today. The Yankees were facing the Toronto Blue Jays - Yanks won 7-5.

Ah, four years ago. Happier times.

YANKEES

JAYS

I forgot Marco Scutaro was on the Jays. And hey, it's Lyle Overbay and Vernon Wells. Thank goodness for Overbay yesterday. If it weren't for him, the Yankees probably would have been shut out.

Okay, I lied, I am still here (10:13am) so I can post some news and notes, and I can post the Yankees' lineup in this thread - they put it up pretty early today. Hooray!

Gardner 8 Ichiro 9 Cano 4 Rodriguez 5 Overbay 3 Soriano 7 Granderson DH Nunez 6 Stewart 2

A roster move was made: Dellin Betances is up, David Adams is down.

Happy Sunday!
