I do feel bad for David Carpenter and thought he'd do well for the Yankees, but, on the other hand, I really did not want to see him fail in another high leverage situation. As Sweeny Murti tweeted, "He retired only 13 of 22 first batters faced and let 4 of 9 inherited runners score. 7th inning guys won't last like that."
