I was at this game and it was awesome.
I was sitting in the left field bleachers, surrounded by Cubs fans and they were wondering why we were flipping out over a grand slam in a game the Yankees were already winning. When I told one of the girls behind me that it was the first grand slam of Jeter's career, she couldn't believe it. I explained to her that Jeter had good numbers with the bases loaded but just never hit the ball out until that moment.
I have to say, the Cubs fans we were sitting near were pretty cool.
That was a fun, and hot, day. Being in the old left field bleachers was like sitting one top of a giant tuna can in Connecticut. It felt far away and it was sweltering.
Anyway, happy anniversary, Derek! I can't believe it has been 10 years.
