Rest in Peace, Yogi Berra

01 Oct 1962, Probably New York, New York, USA --- Lucky 13. So Yogi Berra holds a ball numbered 13. So it will be his 13th World Series. So what else in new, says Yogi's sunburst? --- Image by © Bettmann/CORBIS As most of you probably know by now, the world lost Yogi Berra last night at the age of 90.

And I'm sure most of you, like me, are very sad about his passing so I thought it would be nice if we could talk about Yogi and how much he meant to us as Yankee fans. Obviously the majority of us never saw him play, but he was around the team enough for us to have some stories.

My Yogi story is that I called him Yogi Bear until kindergarten when a classmate finally corrected me. That was embarrassing. I'll blame my parents who loved when I messed things up like that and thought it was adorable but who didn't want to correct me.

And I saw this story a little while ago on Twitter and legitimately laughed out loud, because I pictured it and thought it was so funny. Then I cried because I realized it could never happen again.

So what's your Yogi story? Leave them in the comments. Or just talk about him. You could even post some of his famous quotes, or Yogisms, if you'd like. Because while this is a very sad day for his family and friends, and for baseball, we should celebrate Yogi and his life.

UPDATE: Someone posted this on Facebook and I laughed all over again.
