Quick hit: Justin Wilson traded to the Tigers

Looks like the Yankees made another move early this evening, reportedly trading reliever Justin Wilson to the Detroit Tigers for two prospects. Wilson, who came over to the Yankees from the Pirates in a swap involving Francisco Cervelli in November 2014, pitched well for the club in 2015. He had a 3.10 ERA (2.69 FIP) in 61 innings of work with a 5-0 record in 74 games. His HR/9 was 0.44, his K/9 was 9.74, his ground ball rate was 43.8% and he had a WAR of 1.5

We'll update when we get more info about the return for Wilson.

UPDATE 6:36 P.M.:

Hmmmm.... What does that mean? Guess we'll find out when Cash lets us know what's actually going on. Maybe they're working on the trade and it will be announced later.

Don't you love the Winter Meetings and the rumors that leak? It's so much fun!

UPDATE 6:42 P.M.:

Jon Morosi of Fox Sports has confirmed that a deal has been made.

Jennifer Hammond, who first had the report, is saying that the two prospects heading to the Yankees could be RHP Luis Cessa and RHP Chad Green.

Cessa, who is 23 and started off in the Mets farm system, had a 4.52 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A last year. Green, who is 24 and was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2010, had a 3.93 ERA at Triple-A Erie.
