Spring Training Game 5: Tanaka's 2016 Debut

As much as we like to downplay Masahiro Tanaka's elbow concerns around here, it is a fact that the guy has battled injuries since joining the Yankees, it's a fact that he had offseason elbow surgery, and it's a fact that he's not a lock to be ready for Opening Day.  It's worth noting that him starting today does line him up to start on Opening Day, and I'm sure that's what the Yankees want to happen, so it doesn't take a genius to see the importance in today's outing.  It's the first step towards determining the rest of Tanaka's ST path and his readiness to start the 2016 season on time and every set of important eyes is going to be on him. There are a few other storylines of note in this afternoon's game, mainly Rob Refsnyder's in-game debut at third base and Gary Sanchez getting the start behind the plate for Tanaka's outing.  Those two and the rest of this afternoon's starting lineup are as follows:

1) Didi Gregorius- SS 2) Starlin Castro- 2B 3) Chase Headley- DH 4) Dustin Ackley- 1B 5) Sanchez- C 6) Aaron Hicks- RF 7) Refsnyder- 3B 8) Lane Adams- LF 9) Slade Heathcott- CF

First pitch is set for 1:05 PM local time and I believe the game is being broadcast on MLB.tv.  Here's your game thread.
