Game 84: Pineda vs. Gonzalez

One year ago today, the Yankees were 44-38, sitting atop the AL East by one game. Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez were batting a combined .264/.373/.522 with 36 HR and 106 RBI in 643 PA, and Brett Gardner and Brian McCann both had OPS marks well over .800. It was a better time, despite the presence of Stephen Drew and Chris Capuano - yet I don't long for it. I am not quite pessimistic, either; rather, I am hopeful to see what this trade deadline brings, as the team fields offers on Andrew Miller, Aroldis Chapman, and others.

In the meantime, here's tonight's lineup:

  1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
  2. Brett Gardner, LF
  3. Carlos Beltran, DH
  4. Brian McCann, C
  5. Mark Teixeira, 1B
  6. Starlin Castro, 2B
  7. Didi Gregorius, SS
  8. Chase Headley, 3B
  9. Aaron Hicks, RF

The first pitch is scheduled for 8:10 pm.
