Game 139: Cobb vs. Sabathia

While you're waiting for tonight's action, check out the latest episode of the podcast. EJ, Scott, and I discussed the Yankees outlook at second based, and deliberated a few potential buy low opportunities for the coming off-season.

Tonight's game represents the beginning of a four-game series against the Rays, which is an opportunity for the Yankees to beat up on a subpar team to gain some ground in the playoff race. The Rays are 24-39 on the road (and 59-79 overall), and just fired their long-time hitting coach, Derek Shelton. They have played the Yankees to a draw thus far, splitting the season series 6-6, though, and I am always leery when they come to town.

Here's this evening's lineup:

  1. Brett Gardner, LF
  2. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
  3. Gary Sanchez, DH
  4. Didi Gregorius, SS
  5. Starlin Castro, 2B
  6. Brian McCann, C
  7. Chase Headley, 3B
  8. Tyler Austin, 1B
  9. Aaron Judge, RF

The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
